Welcome to The Swedish Lighthouse Society
Dear Lighthouse Friends The founding of the Swedish Lighthouse Society took place at a meeting in the Dalénmuseet (the Museum of Gustaf Dalén) at Stenstorp (the birth place of Dalén) on October 5, 1996. The idea of starting a Swedish Lighthouse Society was received in a very positive manner. The society had 200 members after only one year of operation and more than 3000 members at the end of 2006 with numbers increasing regularly. In addition to all our individual members we welcome the following member organizations: Swedish National Maritime Administration, Swedish National Property Board, a variety of boat organizations, Shipping Companies, most maritime museums in Sweden and local organizations for Lighthouses such as: (Arkö), Bergudden, Bjuröklubb, Bohus-Malmön, Bokö, Djursten, Dämman, Falsterbo, Garpen, Grönskär, Gåsören, Hallands Väderö, Hammarö Skage, Hanö, Hoburg, Huvudskär, Hållö, Häradskär, Högbonden, Lungö, Malö/Skalla, Måseskär, Nidingen, Nordkoster, Pater-Noster, Pite-Rönnskär, Rataskär, Rödkallen, Segerstad, Smygehuk, Stavik, Stora Fjäderägg, Stora Karlsö, Storkläppen, Sundklubben, Svenska Högarna, Söderarm, Ursholmen, Utklippan, Valö, Vanäs Udde, Vinga, Väderöbod, Ölands Norra Udde, Örskär and Östergarn.
